The Threads of My Being is a black and white photography series that I created in order to physicalize what I believe my sense of self to look like. I chose to define my sense of self by photographing the everyday items I feel contribute to my identity and to show how those items are woven together to make up who I am. The items I’ve chosen, from my childhood Ilocano bracelet to a simple lock and key are items that hold little relevance to me by themselves, but once woven together, create a new meaning relevant to my identity.
